Sales Strategic Account Manager, eCommerce

As our Sales Strategic Account Manager, eCommerce, you will be responsible for all facets of SmartSweets eCommerce business across North America, growing our mission to Kick Sugar, Keep Candy!  In this role, you will develop strategic plans for pure play eComm retailers and brick and mortar “.coms”, as well as partner with Marketing to manage our D2C platforms.  This role reports to the Sr. Director, Sales Canada and will be hybrid in Vancouver, BC.

How You Will Support Our Mission (Responsibilities):  

  • Lead all account management initiatives for Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, all North American bricks & clicks retailers, such as Target.com, Walmart.com, Kroger.com, and Walmart.ca, etc. and our DTC sites
  • Develop support plans and strategies that drive growth and that are aligned with retailers’ & SmartSweets goals
  • Identify short and long-range growth opportunities based on an in-depth understanding of the competitive landscape, investment, search and acquisition metrics, marketplace dynamics, consumer habits, and company strategies
  • Manage the execution of sales and investment strategies to meet volume and profit goals, aligning with set quotas and staying within budget. This includes managing trade spending and marketing investments effectively
  • Complete all annual and monthly forecasting and trade investment reviews with a clear understanding of drivers and an ability to articulate these drivers to the leadership team
  • Leverage customer sell-through data to support a fact-based selling approach; focus on understanding key volume drivers and their ROIs
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Innovation, Supply Chain, and Finance partners to meet account performance objectives
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis, actioning with a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrate a deep sense of accountability and drive towards results

What You Bring (Qualifications & Experience):  
  • 5+ years of key account management with Amazon.com and/or Amazon.ca is required
  • Thorough understanding of eCommerce retail marketing and brand/category knowledge is required
  • Experience managing a retail media budget is required
  • Experience managing retailer bricks & clicks such as Target.com, Walmart.com, Kroger.com, and Walmart.ca, etc. is a strong asset
  • Experience working with a digital agency is a strong asset
  • Experience in the CPG industry is a strong asset
  • Experience managing a forecast and trade budget is required; experience using trade management software is an asset
  • Experience in a Sales Planning & Strategy role is an asset
  • Experience with Nielsen and/or IRI data is an asset
  • A self-motivated, highly organized, and achievement-oriented attitude and an ability to lead with autonomy
  • An ability to quickly assess the needs of the business, develop an action plan and execute
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills
  • A customer-focused, proactive, and team-oriented approach
  • An inquisitive personality and a desire to dive deep into issues to uncover the “why”
  • Experience with formal Joint Business Planning (JBP) partnerships is an asset
  • Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace

  • Ability to travel within North America on a quarterly basis as needed


Compensation and Sweet Perks (Benefits): 
The approximate base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000. The actual base salary will be based on various factors, including the candidate’s level of skills, experience and education aligned with the needs of the role, budget and market. This position is eligible for participation in a bonus program based on performance and company results.
