As our Social Media & Content Specialist you will play a crucial role in telling our story and growing our passionate social media community of over 700K+ on the mission to Kick Sugar, Keep Candy! This role reports to the Senior Director, Marketing and will be hybrid in Vancouver, BC. To support business priorities, core hours are from 9 a.m. PST to 3 p.m. PST Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

How You Will Support Our Mission (Responsibilities):
The approximate base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $69,000. The actual base salary will be based on various factors, including the candidate’s level of skills, experience and education aligned with the needs of the role, budget and market. This position is eligible for participation in a bonus program based on performance and company results. Please note, individuals must be employed by 09/30/25 to be eligible for the 2025 bonus.

How You Will Support Our Mission (Responsibilities):
- Build Awareness: Build SmartSweets brand awareness through compelling content and execution across social media platforms. Bring the annual social strategy to life while continuing to evolve tactics to meet awareness and engagement KPIs.
- Strategic Content: Ensure content includes a mix of engagement drivers like storytelling, strong hooks, humor, and trending moments. Monitor social trends, sounds, and cultural moments to inform reactive content and keep SmartSweets relevant and culturally connected.
- Create All Social Content: Own social content from ideation to creation to posting across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and secondary platforms like Amazon Posts and Pinterest. Create and edit short-form video content that drives engagement, while staying aligned with brand guidelines and strategy. Ensure content includes a mix of engagement drivers like storytelling, strong hooks, humor, and trending moments. Note that for this role you do have to be comfortable being in front of the camera and featured on our social media channels.
- Report Social Insights & Findings: Track content performance and share learnings and optimizations in monthly meetings.
- Stay Connected to Social: Stay on top of social trends, audio, and cultural moments to keep SmartSweets relevant and reactive. Engage directly with our community by responding to comments and mentions in a timely, on-brand voice.
- Work Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with the design team on visual assets and campaign content needs. Partner with the broader marketing team to support product launches and seasonal campaigns with content. Support the paid ads team by creating content for performance-driven ad campaigns as needed.
- External Collaboration: Plan and execute brand collaborations and social giveaways with aligned brands.
- 3+ years of experience in a full time social media/content creation role.
- Deep knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and other key social platforms, with an understanding of how to tailor content for each.
- Keen awareness of emerging social trends and shifting platform dynamics.
- Creative, scrappy, and excited to experiment and test new ideas.
- Confident being both behind the scenes and in front of the camera, serving as a visible and engaging face of the SmartSweets brand on social media.
- Strong in both creative execution and strategy.
- Strong time management skills to keep on track for both daily tasks as well as larger campaigns.
